One of the four dimensions of brain health is being physically active, which is one of many great reasons to exercise. Here’s another: January is National Shape Up US month, founded by the nonprofit Shape Up America!
Here are some ideas on how to celebrate Shape Up month by staying active during the winter months:
- Park far from the door
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator
- Go dancing
- Clean the house
- Walk through a museum or mall
- Volunteer at your local food shelter
- Rearrange your furniture
- Help a friend move
- Stretch
- Play outdoors with your family or friends
